Overview
This role is for a Sales Specialist responsible for managing commercial activities and customer relationships within the Mechanical Safety Systems business for Japanese automotive customers.
You will act as a key commercial interface between customers and internal teams, supporting quotations, pricing discussions, order management, and long-term account development. The position requires strong customer-facing communication skills, commercial awareness, and a practical understanding of automotive supplier operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily communication with Japanese automotive customer contacts
- Support customer quotations, pricing discussions, and commercial negotiations
- Handle order management, invoicing, pricing updates, and related commercial administration
- Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, production, logistics, finance, and customer service
- Support customer requests related to specifications, delivery timing, commercial adjustments, and ongoing account matters
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and internal commercial updates
- Support budget planning and account development activities
- Work closely with overseas group companies on commercial and project-related matters
- Track customer requirements and ensure smooth coordination across departments
- Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in automotive sales, account management, commercial operations, or related functions
- Experience working with Japanese OEM customers or automotive industry customers
- Good understanding of automotive supplier commercial processes
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand technical automotive products and customer requirements
- Business-level English and fluent Japanese
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and general MS Office skills
- Experience with SAP, ERP, EDI, or related business systems is preferred
- Ability to coordinate effectively across internal departments and global teams
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience
- Experience at a Tier 1 automotive supplier
- Experience working in an international automotive business environment
- Experience handling customer quotations, pricing negotiations, and commercial planning
- Engineering, business, or related degree
- Experience working with structured internal systems and quality-focused organizations
