Overview
An excellent opportunity for an early-career Product Engineer to join a global automotive supplier developing advanced components for major Japanese automotive manufacturers.
This is a customer-facing engineering position focused on application engineering, product development, and technical coordination. You will work closely with Japanese customer engineering teams and global development organizations, supporting products from the initial requirements stage through development and production.
The successful candidate will act as a technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams, helping ensure that customer requirements are clearly understood and effectively incorporated into the development process.
This position offers hands-on experience across the automotive product development lifecycle, regular interaction with international engineering teams, and the opportunity to develop into a highly skilled Product Engineer within a global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of automotive components from customer requirements through production
- Participate in technical discussions with customer engineering teams
- Act as a technical interface between customers and internal engineering organizations
- Understand customer requirements and coordinate development activities within internal engineering processes
- Support application engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle
- Work closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and project management teams
- Coordinate technical information between Japanese customers and global engineering teams
- Support engineering changes, product improvements, and technical documentation
- Assist with product development, testing, and validation activities
- Contribute to successful project delivery while continuing to build technical expertise
Requirements
- Experience working for an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier
- Approximately 2–3 years of experience in Product Engineering, Application Engineering, or a similar customer-facing engineering role
- Experience participating in technical discussions with customer engineering teams
- Understanding of customer requirements and internal product development processes
- Knowledge of Japanese automotive development processes
- Business-level Japanese communication skills
- English communication skills are an advantage
