Overview

This role is for a Test Engineer responsible for validating advanced automotive connectivity products within a global automotive technology environment.

You will work closely with software, systems, and hardware teams to ensure products meet quality and customer expectations throughout the development lifecycle. The position combines bench testing, vehicle testing, defect analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with both local and international teams.

Responsibilities

  • Execute system and software validation activities for automotive products
  • Develop and maintain test cases, test plans, and test documentation
  • Perform bench testing and vehicle-level testing
  • Analyze logs and investigate software and system issues
  • Report, track, and verify defects throughout the development cycle
  • Support regression testing and software release validation
  • Work closely with development teams to reproduce and resolve issues
  • Set up and maintain test environments and testing equipment
  • Coordinate with engineering teams across multiple global locations
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate testing records and project documentation
  • Participate in customer issue investigation and validation activities
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Build strong working relationships with both customers and internal global teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in automotive testing, validation, or quality engineering
  • Experience with automotive software or embedded systems testing
  • Understanding of automotive electronics and system integration
  • Experience with defect management and test management tools
  • Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Business-level English and fluent Japanese
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multinational environment
  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with telematics or automotive connectivity products
  • Experience with vehicle network protocols such as CAN
  • Experience with bench testing and vehicle testing
  • Knowledge of test automation or scripting
  • Experience with Python, C#, C++, or similar programming languages
  • Experience at a Tier 1 automotive supplier
  • Experience working with Japanese OEM customers
  • Familiarity with structured automotive development and quality processes
