Overview
An exciting opportunity for an embedded software engineer to join a growing automotive electronics team developing advanced body electronics solutions for the Japanese market.
This role focuses on embedded software development for next-generation automotive systems, including smart access and intelligent power distribution technologies. You will work closely with customer teams, internal engineering functions, and global development groups to deliver high-quality automotive software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into software specifications
- Design software architecture and detailed software concepts for embedded automotive systems
- Develop embedded software using established engineering standards and development processes
- Perform software testing, debugging, validation, and documentation
- Support software modifications, optimization, and system integration activities
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and project teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Participate in technical reviews, configuration management, and release processes
- Support issue investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions when needed
- Work with global engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution and delivery
Requirements
- Experience in embedded software development for commercial products
- Strong programming experience in C or C++
- Experience working with embedded systems and real-time development environments
- Automotive industry experience or experience in embedded electronics development
- Strong understanding of software architecture and software development processes
- Business-level Japanese for customer-facing communication
- Business-level English for collaboration with global teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE, or similar automotive standards
- Familiarity with automotive body electronics systems
- Experience with model-based development tools such as MATLAB / Simulink
- Knowledge of vehicle networks such as CAN
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Exposure to automotive connectivity, cybersecurity, or advanced vehicle technologies
